What Raila Odinga Allegedly Confided to His Adopted Son Days Before he Breathed Last

Raila Odinga's adopted son Salah Oketch has disclosed to the public what the late Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party leader Hon Raila Amollo Odinga had confided in him, days before he breathed last.

While making his revelation, Salah Oketch indicated that into the final days before Raila Odinga's health rapidly deteriorated until he died.

He was with him for most of the time and it was evidentially clear that a lot was in his (Raila's) heart regarding the welfare of the country and the survival of his ODM party.

According to Salah Oketch, Raila Odinga communicated to him and opened up his heart whereby he stated that he was planning to endorse the Head of State His Excellency President William Ruto to be reelected in 2027.

 Raila Odinga strongly felt that the endorsement of President Ruto would guarantee strong victory in 2027 so that his team would continue being part of the government.

Aside from that, Salah Oketch also noted that Raila Odinga also shared with him his political vision, that he (Raila) wanted the entire ODM team to be part of the broad based government .

As he felt that it was the only way to ensure political stability of the Nation and long term survival of the ODM party.

Raila Odinga died on October 15th 2025, but had not disclosed or pronounced publicly whether he was to support William Ruto's reelection bid or whether his party would front a candidate to contest for the country's top political job.
