Jeff Koinange Whereabouts Finally Revealed in Leaked WhatsApp Message as Rumour About His Death Spread

Kenyan journalist Jeff Koinange is alive and well, a leaked WhatsApp conversation has confirmed, ending a nationwide panic sparked by fake death announcements on TikTok.

The rumors erupted Sunday evening when videos falsely claimed the Citizen TV host had succumbed to long-speculated health complications.

Koinange has been off air since August, with unverified reports earlier mentioning kidney issues and hospital stays, making the hoax instantly believable to thousands.

Blogger Xtian Dela quickly moved to verify the claims. He posted screenshots of his frantic messages sent to Koinange:

“bro!! bro!! broooooooo!!! you good??... you safe??!! tiktok has me worried... spreading s about your death... just confirm you still here brooo!!”

After hours of no reply and growing distress, Koinange responded Monday at 6:31 a.m.: “bro bro bro i'm alive and kicking....”

Dela shared the exchange with the relieved announcement: “Jeff Koinange is still alive!!” He later admitted the fake news had him “crying night making calls everywhere.”

The screenshots have since spread rapidly, drawing both laughter and relief from Kenyans who spent the night mourning a man very much alive.

Many praised Dela’s direct approach while calling out the dangers of unchecked social media rumors.

This marks the second time in recent months that Koinange has been prematurely “killed” online.

Citizen TV insists the 59-year-old anchor is simply on extended leave and will return to Jeff Koinange Live soon.
