Ruku Desperately Uses New Strategy to Cool Tension Between Ruto & Gachagua In Mt Kenya Before 2027

Public Service Cabinet Secretary Geoffrey Ruku has dismissed Gachagua’s repeated claims that he intends to run for president in 2027.

Speaking during a church service at NICA Church in Embu, the CS said that any leader removed from office by Parliament has no such opportunity whatsoever to vie for any elective seat constitutionally.

In addition, President William Ruto's staunch allies has sharply criticized former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, saying that President William Ruto does not need anyone’s permission or blessing to visit and launch development projects in the Mt Kenya region.

“The President has a greater responsibility to serve all Kenyans equally. There is no part of this country where he cannot go to launch projects and inspect development,” said Ruku.

He also dismissed Gachagua’s efforts to consolidate Mt Kenya votes himself urging Mt Kenya residents to listen to President Ruto and let him leave alone.

Ruku said the President is a national leader elected by all Kenyans and therefore has both the right and duty to visit any part of the country without threats or conditions from anyone.

He emphasized that no single leader owns the Mt Kenya region or has the authority to decide who may speak to its residents.

The Cabinet Secretary also accused Gachagua of trying to divide leaders and communities through early political campaigns ahead of the 2027 elections.
