Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has made it known that he will be in the presidential ballot in the fast approaching 2027 general election.
The DCP leader has also declared confidence in winning the seat, predicting that his party will be the one to form the next government.
Gachagua has stated that his first mission as President will be to reward those who will support his party and his presidential bid.
He has vowed to give such regions state positions while forming his government, a promise he made after opening a party office in Kajiado South.
"This is the party that will form government next year and the Maa community will be part of that government. If you make me President I will give your people government positions," he said as reported by the People Daily.
He further urged all Kenyans to join the party, branding it as their best avenue to a better life.
“We keep engaging every Kenyan in all corners of our country ahead of the elections next year. To the people of Loiktoktok, here is your party of choice and a party that listens to you and carries your aspirations."
In a jibe aimed at President William Ruto, who is seeking another term in office, he dismissed the Head of State as a political amateur, promising to show him the actual art of politics next year.
Gachagua has since moved to court seeking the invalidation of his 2024 impeachment, which some legal experts argue bars him from seeking any elective position.
