Cherargei: Gen Z Moved From Morara to Matiang'i to Maraga to Sifuna,They Might Even End Up With Ruto

Senator Cherargei questioned the consistency of Kenya's Gen Z political movement, pointing out that its loyalties have shifted repeatedly since 2024 and suggesting the pattern may not be done yet.

"In 2024, the Gen Zs were with Morara Kebaso, then they moved to Matiang'i, then Maraga, and now they have moved to Sifuna," he said. "They do not have a stand. They might even move to President Ruto."

The observation is not entirely without basis. Since the 2024 protests, the generation that shook Kenya's political foundations has visibly struggled to settle on a single direction.

The anger that drove them into the streets was never in question. What followed, however, was a series of political attachments that came and went quickly enough to raise legitimate questions about where the movement is actually headed.

That inconsistency is the target Cherargei is aiming at. And he found it.

But his remarks reveal something beyond criticism. A UDA Senator mapping Gen Z's political movements this closely is not a man who considers them irrelevant.

It is the behaviour of someone who recognises a force that could still tip the scales in 2027 and wants to either weaken it early or quietly leave the door open for it to walk through.
