Political Expert Nyamori Alleges the Political Secret Deal Between Oburu and the Late Raila Odinga

Prominent lawyer and political analyst Joshua Odhiambo Nyamori, widely known as Nyamori Wuod Kano, has claimed that a confidential long-term political agreement existed between Siaya Senator Dr. Oburu Oginga and his younger brother, the late former Prime Minister Raila Amolo Odinga.

Speaking to Manyora, Nyamori asserted that the current strategic direction being adopted by the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) under Oburu’s guidance including closer cooperation with President William Ruto’s broad-based administration does not represent a betrayal of Raila’s legacy. 

Instead, he described it as the faithful execution of a private understanding the two brothers had reached several years before Raila’s sudden death in October 2025.

“Dr. Oburu Oginga was far more than just Raila’s sibling; he served as his most reliable confidant and key strategist,” Nyamori stated. “Raila’s vision for ODM was never about remaining in endless opposition merely for the sake of it.

"It was centered on attaining genuine power and delivering tangible benefits for the people of Nyanza and the entire nation. 

The steps Oburu is taking now the methodical negotiations, the coalition framework with UDA, and the demand for equal partnership mirror precisely the plan the brothers crafted during private family and party strategy meetings. This was their undisclosed agreement.”
