Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has accused a senior politician of engaging in gender-based violence by assaulting his wife.
Gachagua, speaking in Murang'a, said the politician beats his wife, forcing her to wear goggles during functions.
"We know that you beat your wife until she is forced to wear goggles while attending functions. That is gender-based violence. But we don't speak about it because those are your issues," Rigathi Gachagua said.
He also called on President William Ruto to stop meddling with his family's affairs and concentrate on Kenyans who elected him.
The former Deputy President of Kenya said the President should also study the will of his late brother, former Nyeri Governor Nderitu Gachagua, saying the will is going to help the president's family in wealth distribution.
"I'm telling Kasongo to stop fighting the will of my late brother, former Nyeri Governor Nderitu Gachagua. Gachagua left a will that is being studied.
He left a will to ensure that his complicated family does not have problems. He should study the will because the way I know him, it is going to help him in the future," Gachagua said.
