Former Nyeri MP Ngunjiri Wambugu has weighed in on the remarks made by former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, who said he braved police teargas because he is a son of the Mau Mau.
According to reports, Rigathi Gachagua, who was speaking in Kiambu County, slammed President William Ruto's administration for allegedly sending the police to attack him.
He alleged that Kikuyu Member of Parliament Kimani Ichung'wah had mobilized goons to try and stop him from conducting his rally in Kikuyu Town.
"They sent the police to try and stop me from coming here. I'm a son of Mau Mau, I had to come. They can't stop me from meeting with you," Rigathi Gachagua said.
His remarks caught the attention of former MP Ngunjiri, who asked if the Mau Mau used to wear bulletproof vests and helmets.
The former MP asked why no one refers to Rigathi with the self-given names he has been using.
MP Kimani Ichung'wah, who immediately took to social media platforms to speak on this incident, said that the former Deputy President of Kenya has been walking with goons.
He alleged that these suspects have been attacking the functions of the former Deputy President of Kenya for public attention and sympathy.
