Chaos Erupts In Murang'a After Residents Mention "WANTAM" in Ruto's Speech

President William Ruto has dismissed criticism from his political rivals, declaring that attempts to unseat him from power are futile.

Speaking during a public address marked by high energy and crowd participation, the Head of State appeared to take a direct swipe at his former deputy, Rigathi Gachagua, and his allies, accusing them of lacking the political strategy needed to challenge his leadership.

In a fiery remark delivered to a charged crowd, Ruto stated, “Wale kina Gachagua hata akili hawana bwanaaaa, kunitoa hapa mlimani ni ndoto ya mchana,” dismissing his opponents as incapable of removing him from power and terming their ambitions as unrealistic.

His remarks were met with loud cheers from residents, who repeatedly broke into chants of “Wantam,” signaling their support for his continued stay in office.

The statement comes amid growing political tension within the country, with factions emerging ahead of the 2027 General Election.

Gachagua and a section of leaders have recently intensified criticism of Ruto’s administration, accusing it of failing to address key economic and governance concerns affecting ordinary Kenyans.

Despite the criticism, Ruto maintained a confident tone, insisting that his development agenda and connection with grassroots supporters remain strong.
He pointed to ongoing government projects and reforms as evidence that his administration is firmly on course.

Political analysts interpret the remarks as a sign of deepening divisions within the ruling coalition, which swept to power in 2022 on a united front.

The public fallout between Ruto and Gachagua has increasingly played out in rallies and media statements, signaling a potential realignment of political alliances.

As the political temperature rises, Kenyans are likely to witness more sharp exchanges between leaders in the coming months, with public sentiment—evidenced by chants like “Wantam”—playing a key role in shaping the narrative.
