“At the beginning he sounded very genuine,” Patrick recalls. “He promised he would repay the money quickly.”
However, weeks turned into months and the repayment never came. According to Patrick, every time he asked about the money he received a different excuse.
“Sometimes he said business was slow, other times he said he needed more time,” Patrick explains.
Eventually the borrower stopped answering calls completely. Patrick says the situation left him frustrated because the money had been part of his personal savings.
