RIP: A Married Woman Walks Into A Man's House To Have Fun At Night Before The Unexpected Happened

A family in Murang’a County is in deep shock after a 44-year-old businesswoman was found dead inside a man’s house under disturbing circumstances that have left police searching for answers.

The woman, identified as Mercy Wamaitha, was discovered in Kiamakumi village in the Maragua constituency.

Her body was found inside a small mud-walled house where neighbours also saw a bucket containing blood, a discovery that shocked the local community.

Police officers from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations began investigations immediately after the incident.

According to a preliminary police report by Murang’a County police commander Kemboi Kimaiyo, the woman may have died following events linked to a troubled relationship.

The police report stated that the woman was from Iganjo village in Kamahuha ward and had dropped out of Class Five before getting married in Kianjiru ini village in the neighbouring Maragua constituency, which is about 25 kilometres away.

Investigators say Wamaitha had been married to a man identified as Macharia wa Njeri, and the couple had six children aged between five and twenty-five years.

However, their marriage reportedly faced difficulties in recent years, and she often left the matrimonial home.

Her body was discovered in the house of Justus Kamau, who has since been arrested.

Police say the suspect has already appeared in court as investigators seek more time to complete their probe.

A post-mortem conducted on March 12 showed that Wamaitha had several stab wounds on her thigh and hand.

The report stated that two of the wounds damaged a major artery, which led to heavy bleeding and her death.

Police say the suspect claims that the woman stabbed herself, but investigators are analysing evidence, including a knife recovered at the scene, to establish the truth.

Her family has now called for justice as investigations continue.
