Presidential Candidate Cheats Death After Horror Encounter With Easy Coach Bus.

Presidential candidate Reuben Kigame has recounted a terrifying road incident that nearly claimed his life this morning along the busy Kapsabet–Chavakali road.

The outspoken politician and gospel musician said he was forced to make a split-second decision to avoid a head-on collision with an oncoming bus belonging to Easy Coach, which he accused of dangerous overtaking and speeding.

According to Kigame, the bus was attempting to overtake another vehicle at high speed when it suddenly found itself facing his car.

“I had to swerve off the road to save my life,” he reportedly said, describing the moment as one of sheer terror. “This culture of careless overtaking and speeding on our highways is putting innocent lives at risk.”

Witnesses at the scene said the bus appeared to be moving at a high speed while overtaking, a common but dangerous maneuver on narrow two-lane roads.

The Kapsabet–Chavakali stretch is known for heavy traffic, matatus, long-distance buses, and private vehicles competing for space.

Kigame’s quick reflexes may have prevented what could have turned into a fatal crash. No injuries were reported, but the incident has reignited concerns over road safety and public transport discipline.

Kenya continues to grapple with high numbers of road accidents, many linked to speeding, reckless overtaking, and driver fatigue.

Public service vehicles have often come under scrutiny for flouting traffic rules in a bid to keep tight schedules.

The incident involving Kigame is likely to spark fresh debate about enforcement of traffic regulations, especially along regional highways.

While there was no immediate statement from Easy Coach regarding the alleged incident, Kigame’s remarks have already stirred reactions online, with many Kenyans sharing their own experiences of near-misses involving speeding buses.
