"Ndiye Huyu" Photo Of 4th Year Student Arrested Over the Murder of Nyeri KMTC Student Found Dead in a Thicket

Police in Karatina have arrested Vincent Bett over the death of a Kenya Medical Training College (KMTC) campus student whose body was discovered in a thicket.

According to reports, the suspect went on a double date with 20-year-old Sheila Chebet alongside another couple.

They all went to a club and left together. Bett and the deceased were caught on CCTV heading home.

Police revealed that another CCTV showed the suspect with the deceased around the area where her body was discovered.

The victim's father, Johnstone Korir, who spoke about the incident, said he had high hopes in her daughter, whom he said was going to change the lives of her family.

He regretted the murder of her daughter, affirming that they are now planning to bury her.

"I had high hopes in my daughter. As a family, we thought that she was going to change our lives but now she is gone," Korir said.

A man who discovered the body in the thicket said she was naked and that a trouser and a belt had been tied on her neck.

He also revealed that she had socks on and her body was facing upward.

"I was going about my day before I saw a woman's body. She was naked. She didn't have anything on except socks. A belt and a trouser had been tied on her neck," he said.
