Loans had piled up from different places.
He had borrowed money to start a business that failed, then took more loans to try and recover. Instead, things got worse. Interest kept growing, and soon he could no longer keep up with the payments.
Calls from lenders became constant, and fear became part of his daily life.
He stopped picking calls.
