The House Everyone Said Was My Fresh Start Slowly Turned Into a Place of Sleepless Nights, Whispering Floors, and Dreams I Couldn’t Escape

 

When my grandmother passed away, the family agreed that I should inherit her old house. It was quiet, solid, and filled with memories. 

Everyone said I was lucky. At first, I felt the same. The house was fully paid for, standing alone at the edge of the village, and I believed it was a fresh start for me.

The problems began the first week I moved in. Every night, sleep refused to come. I would lie awake feeling watched, listening to soft movements in rooms I had already locked. At times, I heard the floor creak as if someone was walking slowly, carefully.

During the day the house felt normal, but at night it changed. My dreams became heavy and disturbing, always set inside the same house.

I tried ignoring it. I blamed stress, grief, and adjusting to a new environment. But the exhaustion grew worse.
