"Kumbe" Sifuna Finally Reveals Why They Used Blue Colour In Kakamega

Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna has defended his decision to use the blue colour during a political rally in Kakamega, saying that blue is one of the official colours of the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM).

Speaking after the rally, Sifuna clarified that ODM’s official colours are orange, blue and white. He said many people wrongly believe that orange is the only colour associated with the party.

“The official colours of ODM are orange, blue and white. Therefore, the blue colour we used in Kakamega is a party colour,” Sifuna stated.

His choice of colour sparked debate among supporters and political observers, especially because ODM has for many years been strongly identified with orange.

Some critics questioned whether the use of blue symbolized a shift in political direction. However, Sifuna dismissed such claims, insisting that there was nothing unusual about using blue at the rally.

The Kakamega event is part of a series of rallies being held across the country by a section of ODM leaders who are opposing the party’s decision to support President William Ruto’s government. The group includes Embakasi East MP Babu Owino, Siaya Governor James Orengo, and other like-minded leaders.

The leaders have been meeting supporters in different regions, urging them to remain firm in defending what they describe as the original ideals of the party. They argue that they have the democratic right to express their views even if they differ from the official party position.

The ongoing rallies have intensified internal debates within ODM, raising questions about unity and the party’s future political direction as the country slowly shifts focus towards the 2027 General Election.
