Speculations As Malala Bows Down To Pressure, Speaks On Joining Ruto But Under This Condition

Cleophas Malala, the Deputy Party Leader of the Democracy for Citizens Party, has set a firm condition before considering any political cooperation with President William Ruto.

Malala stated that he would only engage in talks if the government takes responsibility for the deaths of young people who lost their lives during the recent Gen Z protests.

Malala said the country cannot move forward without addressing what he described as painful losses that affected families across the nation.

He argued that leaders must show accountability and compassion instead of remaining silent on the matter.

According to him, justice for the victims should come first before any form of political alignment or negotiation can be discussed.

He also criticised what he termed as selective leadership that focuses on power arrangements while ignoring the concerns of ordinary citizens.

Malala noted that young people played a major role in expressing public frustration over economic pressure, unemployment and the rising cost of living. He added that their voices should not be dismissed through force or intimidation.

The DCP leader urged the government to open an independent investigation into the protest deaths and to support affected families through compensation and public acknowledgement.

He insisted that meaningful dialogue with the youth is necessary to restore trust between the state and the public.

Malala’s remarks have sparked debate across political circles, with supporters praising his stand while others question whether such demands can influence ongoing political realignments.

Even so, his message has placed renewed focus on accountability and the treatment of young protesters in the country’s political discourse.
