Ruto Warns Youths Against Blind Loyalty, Tells Them to Hold Politicians Accountable
President William Ruto has challenged Kenyan youths to take charge of their political future .

By demanding accountability from politicians seeking their votes ahead of the 2027 elections.

Speaking in Kakamega County during the launch of the NYOTA Project in the Western region .

The Head of State said young people must stop being passive participants in politics and start interrogating the motives and promises of leaders who approach them.

Ruto said it was time for the youth to grill politicians on how their vote would translate into tangible change in their lives.

“We have the political class telling you to register and vote for them. 

They are not saying how that vote will help you. We must ask difficult questions; ask them, ‘What will you gain in return?’” Ruto urged.

The President emphasized that the NYOTA Project, which focuses on empowering young people with digital and entrepreneurial skills, 

Designed to help Kenyan youth move from job seekers to job creators.

 He said the government’s new youth programs are aimed at bridging the gap between education, innovation, and employment.

Ruto’s message was a sharp reminder of the growing political consciousness among the youth, who make up more than 75% of registered voters in Kenya.

 His remarks also come at a time when opposition figures have been rallying young people to register  ahead of 2027. 

Describing them as the “game changers” of the next election.

By challenging the youth to ask tough questions, Ruto appeared to signal a shift in political engagement. 

Urging them not to be swayed by populist slogans but to demand real solutions that will secure their economic and social future.
