"ODM Ni Baba" Kenyans React As Report Emerge Of Looming Cabinet Shake-Up Targeting Raila’s Ex-Allies

Fresh political chatter has erupted across the country following claims that President William Ruto is planning a sweeping Cabinet reshuffle that could see major changes in his administration.

Word on the street is that a number of ministers and senior advisers with ties to the late former ODM boss Raila Odinga might soon be shown the door as Ruto reorganizes his inner circle.

Online reports have hinted that the Commander in Chief is keen to inject new energy into his government and replace ODM-linked technocrats with fresh loyalists.

A viral post shared here intensified the buzz, claiming Ruto no longer needs the expertise of Raila’s former allies within his administration.

The talk has quickly spilled onto social media, with Kenyans reacting sharply.

Some argued that ODM remains the true“political father” of Kenya’s governance ideas, while others claimed the reshuffle is long overdue, saying it’s time for Ruto to surround himself with people who fully support his vision ahead of the 2027 elections.

Analysts believe such a move, if confirmed, would mark a major political turning point.

For months, rumours of friction within Cabinet have persisted, with reports of ministers disagreeing on key policies and internal power struggles.

A purge of former opposition-linked figures would send a clear message, loyalty first, politics second.

Names being whispered in political corridors include former CS Moses Kuria, CS Treasury John Mbadi, and CS Energy Opiyo Wandayi, though State House has not commented on the speculation.

Observers suggest Ruto may be preparing to introduce younger, more tech-driven leaders who can appeal to Kenya’s restless youth and rebuild public trust.

If these rumours hold any truth, the move could officially mark the end of the post-election cooperation spirit that began when Raila joined the Broad-Based Government, a partnership many saw as temporary.

As Kenyans debate the next chapter of Ruto’s leadership, one phrase continues to trend online, “ODM ni baba kweli,” a reminder that even in absence, Raila’s influence still looms large in Kenya’s political arena.
