Kibuye Market Traders Shower Mama Ida Odinga with Love as They Pay Last Respects to Late Raila Oding

Kibuye Market in Kisumu came to a standstill on Friday as hundreds of traders gathered to pay their last respects to the late Raila Odinga. 

The emotional event turned into a powerful show of unity and admiration for Mama Ida Odinga, who was warmly received by the crowd.

The traders, many of whom credited Raila for improving their livelihoods through market reforms .

Empowerment initiatives, sang songs of praise and waved ODM flags as Ida arrived.

 They described Raila as a leader who always stood for the common people and fought tirelessly for justice and equality.

Mama Ida, visibly touched by the overwhelming love, thanked the traders for their continued support and loyalty to her late husband’s vision. 

She urged them to remain peaceful, united, and focused on building a better future for Kisumu and the nation at large.

“This love reminds me that Raila’s spirit still lives among you,” she said. 

“He always believed that markets like Kibuye were the heart of our economy because that’s where hardworking Kenyans make an honest living.”

The traders also presented flowers and candles in Raila’s memory, vowing to continue his legacy of resilience and community service.

The atmosphere was filled with both sorrow and gratitude, as Kisumu residents celebrated the life of a man they described as a father, liberator, and true champion of the people.

Raila’s memorial events continue to draw massive crowds across the country, reflecting his enduring influence in Kenya’s political and social life.
