Kenya Kwanza allies have continued to defend President William Ruto ahead of the 2027 General Election, with Homa Bay Town MP Peter Kaluma now arguing that the Head of State still enjoys support because of his push for equal development across the country.
In his latest Facebook post, Kaluma claimed that many Kenyans are beginning to appreciate what he described as balanced leadership under Ruto’s administration.
According to the outspoken ODM legislator, previous governments were often accused of favouring certain regions while neglecting others, but he said the current administration is trying to spread projects and opportunities more fairly.
Kaluma pointed to ongoing infrastructure projects, affordable housing programmes, electricity connectivity, and road construction in different parts of the country as signs that the government is focused on national unity rather than regional politics.
He maintained that such efforts could influence voters to give Ruto another term in office.
The MP’s remarks have already sparked debate online, with supporters of the government agreeing that development should reach every corner of the country regardless of political affiliation.
Critics, however, accused Kaluma of ignoring the economic hardships many Kenyans continue to face, including the high cost of living, taxation concerns, and unemployment among the youth.
Even so, Kaluma insisted that development remains one of the key factors voters consider during elections. He argued that leaders who focus on inclusivity and equal sharing of national resources often gain public trust over time.
The comments come at a time when political activity is slowly beginning to build up across the country as leaders position themselves ahead of the next election cycle. While the opposition continues to criticise the Kenya Kwanza administration, Ruto’s allies appear determined to defend his record and strengthen his support base across different regions.
