"Those Who'll Lose UDA Party Nominations Are Welcomed To DCP" Gachagua Says

Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has unveiled a new political strategy aimed at attracting leaders dissatisfied with the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) nomination process.

Speaking at a rally in Thika, Gachagua announced that his newly formed party, the Democracy for Citizens Party (DCP), will provide an alternative platform for aspirants who feel marginalized or unfairly treated within UDA.

Addressing supporters at the event, Gachagua emphasized that DCP is committed to fairness and equal opportunity.

He noted that many politicians are often locked out of competitive races due to internal party dynamics, and his party intends to correct that imbalance by offering them a chance to participate meaningfully in leadership.

“If UDA denies you a fair chance, DCP will take you in,” Gachagua declared, a statement that was met with enthusiastic applause from the crowd.

In addition to positioning DCP as an inclusive political home, Gachagua launched a strong critique of President William Ruto and the UDA leadership. He accused the party of fostering an environment where corruption is allowed to flourish unchecked.

According to him, misuse of public resources has become widespread, with little accountability from those in positions of authority.

“Corruption in UDA starts at the top. People’s money is being stolen while leaders do nothing,” he said.

Gachagua presented DCP as a reform-driven movement grounded in integrity, transparency, and citizen participation.

He stressed that the party’s foundation is built on restoring public trust and ensuring that ordinary citizens have a voice in governance and decision-making processes.

Political observers suggest that this development could significantly impact Kenya’s political landscape.

By openly inviting discontented UDA members, Gachagua may trigger a wave of defections, particularly among candidates who feel sidelined during party nominations.

His early outreach strategy appears designed to consolidate support from both political figures and voters seeking a credible alternative.

The Thika rally underscored Gachagua’s determination to establish a strong political base ahead of future elections.

His message was direct and strategic: the Democracy for Citizens Party aims to serve as a refuge for those pursuing fairness, accountability, and a renewed direction in Kenya’s leadership.
