"Will You Send 10 Million Supporters to Heaven Too?" Former MP Questioned After Threatening Sifuna

Senator Godfrey Osotsi launched a pointed rebuttal against former Kisumu Central Member of Parliament Fred Ouda following a viral video in which Ouda issued a stark warning to Edwin Sifuna and the Linda Mwananchi brigade.

In the clip, shared widely on February 25, 2026, Ouda appeared shirtless and declared that Kisumu remains firmly behind Raila Odinga and Gladys Wanga.

He cautioned that any attempt by Sifuna or Babu Owino to hold rallies in the region would face severe consequences, adding that those responsible should not blame others but instead prepare to face divine judgment in heaven.

Osotsi responded sharply on social media, questioning the logic behind such threats.

He asked whether Ouda planned to send not only Sifuna but also Kisumu Governor Anyang' Nyong'o, Raila Odinga, his daughters Ida, Winnie, and Ruth Odinga, along with over 10 million followers of the Linda Mwananchi movement, to heaven as well.

The senator tagged Sifuna directly and used hashtags Linda Mwananchi and Sisi Ndo Sifuna to amplify his message, framing the exchange as evidence of desperation within certain pro-Raila factions.

The controversy highlights deepening fractures in western Kenya's political landscape, particularly in Nyanza, where loyalty to Raila Odinga has long been a defining feature.

Recent events, including by-election results favoring the ruling United Democratic Alliance in other regions, have intensified online sparring between supporters of the government and those aligned with the opposition Azimio coalition or splinter groups.

Ouda's remarks appear to defend perceived strongholds against perceived incursions by figures like Sifuna, who has positioned himself as a vocal critic of President William Ruto while maintaining ties to broader opposition causes.

Osotsi's counter highlighted the absurdity of extreme rhetoric, suggesting that threats of violence or divine retribution do little to unify or strengthen political positions.

As Kenya approaches future electoral cycles, such public exchanges underscore the challenges of maintaining cohesion amid competing interests and shifting allegiances in key voting blocs.
