REVEALED: How Oburu's ODM Led Faction Is Trying To Lure Sifuna Affiliated DJ Spider, Offer Him Lucrative Deals

Nairobi Senator and ODM Secretary General Hon. Edwin Sifuna has revealed that rival groups in his party are trying hard to hire popular DJ, Spider who has been firing his Linda Mwananchi rallies.

"They are offering big money to get him to join their side," Sifuna said. speaking also Sifuna said that he will not stop Spider if the offer is good enough. He joked that if being with him raises a person’s value, people should associate with him.

The tension started after a rally led by ODM veteran Oburu Odinga in Siaya. The event fell flat because it did not have a DJ.

Oburu was heard saying, "Hatuna DJ" meaning "We don't have a DJ." DJ Spider had left Oburu’s team to join Sifuna’s Linda Mwananchi rallies.

His energy and music had been a key part of past campaigns, and his absence was clearly felt.

Since moving to Sifuna’s side, Spider has brought excitement back to the rallies. In Kakamega, his performances turned the events into lively gatherings.

He even used recordings of Raila Odinga’s voice to motivate supporters and bring back old campaign memories.

Meanwhile, Oburu’s team, including Homa Bay Governor Gladys Wanga, has tried to mobilize support, but without a strong DJ, the rallies lacked energy.

The poaching of DJ Spider highlights deeper divisions in ODM. Sifuna’s group, with allies like Babu Owino and James Orengo, pushes for a firm opposition stance against the government.

Oburu’s team appears friendlier to President William Ruto’s administration. Recent incidents show rising tension, including a vandalized campaign truck in Kisumu and teargas disruptions at Kitengela rallies.

Analysts say this is more than a fight over a DJ. It shows a struggle for control and influence in ODM ahead of the 2027 elections. Sifuna’s decision not to stop Spider from leaving shows both his practical thinking and a warning to rivals that talent and loyalty are valuable.

For now, Spider continues to energize the Linda Mwananchi rallies. His beats are drawing crowds and keeping momentum high.

The question remains if he will stay loyal or move to the highest bidder. Fans and party members are watching closely as the music fuels political battles in Kenya.
