Jubilee party has called for opposition unity ahead of the upcoming Ol Kalou parliamentary by-election, urging coalition partners to rally behind a single candidate under its banner.
In a statement issued on April 22, 2026, the party emphasized the need for a coordinated approach, noting that the seat was previously held by a Jubilee member, the late David Kiaraho.
It confirmed that it will field a candidate while encouraging other opposition parties to support a joint contender to strengthen their chances.
Secretary General Moitalel Ole Kenta assured residents that the party would conduct free, fair, and transparent nominations to identify its candidate.
He stressed that growing public demand favors unity among opposition leaders, rather than fragmented competition. Jubilee argued that a united front would help build a credible and formidable alternative government.
The party also pointed to past by-elections where cooperation proved effective, including Mbeere North and Emurua Dikirr constituencies, where opposition groups backed a single candidate.
Jubilee reiterated that maintaining such unity is crucial, calling for solidarity, strategic coordination, and long-term political focus over short-term individual interests.
