"Natembeya Offered Me Money To Keep Quiet In Senate But I Refused" UDA Senator Exposes

Trans Nzoia County Senator Alan Chesang has accused Governor George Natembeya of attempting to bribe him, claiming that the governor offered him money to stay silent and stop holding his administration accountable.

Speaking at a press briefing on Friday, Chesang said he categorically refused the alleged bribe, emphasizing that his role as senator is to serve the people of Trans Nzoia and ensure their interests are protected.

“I cannot betray the trust of the people who elected me. My duty is to keep leaders in check and demand accountability,” Chesang stated.

The senator further revealed that despite pressure, he remains committed to summoning Natembeya to the Senate whenever necessary.

He noted that these summonses are part of his constitutional mandate to oversee governance in the county and that he will not be deterred by intimidation or attempts to influence him financially.

Chesang’s accusations have sparked reactions across political circles, with many questioning the integrity of the county leadership. While Natembeya has not publicly responded to the claims, sources close to his office suggest that the governor denies any wrongdoing.

Political analysts argue that such confrontations are becoming increasingly common in Kenyan politics, where checks and balances often clash with local executive powers.

Chesang’s insistence on transparency and accountability resonates with constituents who have long demanded better oversight of county resources.

As the political battle unfolds, residents of Trans Nzoia are watching closely to see whether these allegations will lead to further investigations or reforms within the county government.

For now, Chesang remains firm in his stance, promising to continue fighting for the people’s interests and maintaining his role as a vigilant legislator.
